How to promote an app with influencers
Updated October 2026
You promote an app with influencers by choosing creators whose audience looks like your users, and having each one show the app in use inside content their viewers already watch.

Which influencers fit an app?
The ones whose audience matches the people who use your app: who watches, the country they live in and the language they speak. Each channel's audience data shows this before any contact. A creator who already talks about what your app does gives it a natural place in the video.
Which formats work for an app?
- Ad inside the video
- A segment of 60 to 90 seconds in one of the creator's videos, showing the app working, in their own words.
- Dedicated video
- A whole video about the app, for a launch or a product that takes time to show.
- Short video
- A vertical video on TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts that shows one feature quickly.
- Live stream
- The creator uses and presents the app live on Twitch, with the viewers watching it work.
How do you track installs from an influencer campaign?
Give each creator a link from your attribution tool, which counts the installs from their video on the App Store and Google Play, and a promo code with their name. The link counts the people who tap it. The code counts the people who find the app later and use it when they sign up.
How much does it cost to promote an app with influencers?
US$28 to 55per thousand views, apps and productivity
US$40 to 80per thousand views, software
Creators price a sponsored video by the views it is expected to get. The figures above are for a segment inside a YouTube video.
You can start with a test campaign: a few creators, the same process at a smaller size, and the results show where to put the next budget. Campaign management by Ikanda is shown separately in the proposal.
How long until the first videos go live?
2 to 4 weeksfrom the start of the campaign
That time covers choosing the creators, the agreements, the brief and the production. With larger creators the negotiation can take a little longer.
